IN ADDITION TO MEETING IMMEDIATE, EMERGENCY NEEDS-INCLUDING FOOD, MEDICAL SUPPLIES, SPECIALIZED SUPPORT FOR THE ELDERLY AND INFIRM, AND MORE-UJA ALSO AIDS IN LONGER-TERM RECOVERY, TRAUMA-RELIEF, AND RESILIENCE-BUILDING. SINCE OCTOBER 7 AND AS OF THE FILING OF THIS TAX RETURN, UJA HAS ALLOCATED MORE THAN $182 MILLION TO ADDRESS ACUTE EMERGENCY NEEDS IN ISRAEL WHILE ALSO INVESTING IN PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)AND ECONOMIC RECOVERY. THESE NONPROFITS SERVE BOTH THE JEWISH COMMUNITY AND THE BROADER NEW YORK POPULATION, INCLUDING SENIORS, HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS, SINGLE PARENTS, AND INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM AND DISABILITIES. THE SERVICES THEY OFFER INCLUDE HOUSING, MEDICAL CARE, END-OF-LIFE AND PALLIATIVE CARE, MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, EDUCATION, FOOD PROGRAMS, AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND GUIDANCE. UJA ALSO PROMOTES VOLUNTEERISM BY FACILITATING THE RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING OF VOLUNTEERS WHO SERVE CLIENTS AT NUMEROUS (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)NONPROFITS. AS PART OF ITS COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION AND LIFELONG LEARNING, UJA SUPPORTS BOTH INFORMAL AND FORMAL JEWISH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS.
